Mon 6th February – Today I did a wine tour in the Barossa Valley which was part of a tour package I had bought. We started off seeing the world’s largest rocking horse and visiting the Whispering Wall. This is a curved wall of a dam which if someone stands on one end of it and talks normally, we could hear everything they were saying from the other side as if they were standing next to us! It was first discovered when some construction workers were bad-mouthing their boss on the other side of the dam and the boss heard everything they said. It was really cool. We went to four wineries, with the first one being the most interesting as it was the Jacob’s Creek winery which was great as for once it was a winery I had actually heard of!
On the bus I sat next to a guy who knew a guy from my Kangaroo Island tour (small world) and he was on my tour going up to Alice Springs tomorrow!
After the wine tour I met up with the guys from the Kangaroo Island tour and we had a good night out – it was a shame to say good bye even though I only knew them a few days we got on so well with each other. A couple of them will be Alice Springs the day I get there so I might see them there.
